Security Doors Sydney

Made in our own workshop

We build security doors and screens at Douglas Park, south west of the city, and install them across Sydney from the Macarthur region up through Liverpool and out to the Nepean.

Every door is made to the measured opening. We do not carry stock sizes, because stock sizes are the reason so many security doors sit badly in the frame with a packer behind the hinge.

Where we work

Camden, Campbelltown and the wider Macarthur region. Liverpool, Leppington, Edmondson Park and the south west growth corridor. Penrith, Glenmore Park, Emu Plains and the Nepean. South to Wollondilly, the Illawarra and the Southern Highlands. If you are outside that and you have found this page anyway, call and ask. Sometimes the answer is yes.

Two ways to build a security screen

Almost every security door sold in Australia is one of two things, and the choice matters more than the brand name on it.

Woven stainless steel mesh. Fine stainless wire woven into a tight grid and tensioned into an aluminium frame. Near-full visibility, very hard to cut. We use 316 marine grade.

Perforated aluminium. A single sheet of tempered marine grade aluminium punched with a pattern of holes. Nothing woven to unpick, no galvanic corrosion because the sheet and frame are the same metal, and a lower price point. We fit IntrudaGuard.
We make both, so we have no reason to push you toward one. Which suits your place mostly comes down to how close you are to salt air and what you want to spend. There is a full comparison here, including how these compare to Crimsafe.

What makes a security door a security door
The test is AS 5039. It covers impact, jemmy attack and knife shear. A screen that has not been tested to it is a flyscreen with a heavier frame, whatever it is being called.

The other thing worth asking about is how the mesh is held into the frame. A strong mesh in a weak retention system fails at the retention system. Ours uses a two-piece wedge and seat, so pulling on the mesh tightens the wedge rather than working it loose.

How it works
We come to you and measure. Free, and there is no charge if you do not go ahead. You pick the mesh type, frame colour and lock specification. Frame colours are the standard Dulux powder coat range or a custom match to your existing trim.We build it at Douglas Park. The same team installs it.

One outfit is accountable for how it opens and closes. What affects the price
The size of the opening, whether it is a standard rectangle, the mesh you choose, the frame finish, the lock specification, and how hard the install is to reach. Second-storey and awkward-access work costs more for obvious reasons.

We measure on site and quote for free, and there is no charge if you decide not to go ahead.
Why us rather than a national chain

Two generations, over 10,000 doors, and a seven year warranty on our work. We are a manufacturer, not a reseller, which means when something needs adjusting years later the people who built it are the ones who come back.

No showroom. Everything is by appointment and on site, because a door that looks right in a showroom tells you nothing about how it will look on your house.
